Going Through Depression Treatment

When you hear about people going through treatment for depression, it’s hard to imagine what that might look like.

My treatment consisted of different types of innovative treatments that combined, were the perfect combination for myself. Here is an introduction to my treatment!

I went to a neuropsychiatrist who focuses on the way that the brain changes in someone who is depressed. This was the first step of my journey.

The brain is an organ, and just like any other organ, you become sick when it isn’t functioning correctly.

The chemistry of my brain needed to be corrected because I was physically ill from the depression.

Our first step was to get my brain back to where it needed to be; this was around 15 days into my treatment, as I was in the beginning stage of correcting my brain structure.

WTF is Ketamine Therapy?!!

Ketamine therapy is unique to other antidepressants because it can offer immediate relief to those experiencing extreme distress. Many antidepressants target the serotonin system; however, ketamine does not.

Ketamine works on NMDA receptors

Ketamine's action on NMDA receptors in the brain is significant because these receptors are responsible for facilitating the passage of chemicals through the glutamatergic system. This system, a vital part of the brain, is involved in mood regulation and the processes of learning and memory.

Ketamine operates on the NMDA receptors in a truly unique manner, allowing positive messages to reach the brain. This process can be likened to a magic trick, altering the function of the NMDA receptors and facilitating introspection and healing.

Ketamine tweaks the communication system in the brain, especially with the NMDA receptors, which can lead to a quick improvement in mood and rapid results.

The amount of sessions each person needs may vary.

I am by NO MEANS an expert on any of this, and am simply sharing my experience. Reach out to professionals for proper information or to find out if this is something you might be interested in.
